Biography
William John Warnke was born on 8 April 1868 in Missouri to John Warnke and Sophia Kuchenmeister. His parents had immigrated from Germany and were living in the St. Louis area at the time of his birth.
William married Louise Jelinek in 1892 in Nebraska, where both the Warnke and Jelinek families had settled in Saline County (around Crete). The couple had three daughters: Loraine Vesta (later Cox), Adeline (later Giles, then Britt), and Viola (later Fuller).
By the 1910 census, the family was living in Missouri with their three daughters. The 1940 census places them at 223 East Big Bend Road, Webster Groves, St. Louis County.
William died on 4 June 1943 and is buried at Lake Charles Park Cemetery in Bel-Nor, St. Louis County.
