Biography
Sarah Johnson was born 18 July 1853 in Jackson County, Missouri. She married John Abner Kirby on 3 October 1872 in Jackson County. After her husband's death in 1884, she continued to reside in Jackson County as a widow. In May 1894 she signed the marriage license of her daughter Hettie Adeline Kirby as "the surviving parent," granting consent for Hettie's marriage to Walter M Vaughan; Sarah died on 21 January 1899.
