Biography
John Henry Eggers was born on 8 October 1870 in Hamburg, Germany, to Hinrich Eggers and Marie Heins. His father died when he was nine years old (1879); his mother survived until 1908.
John Henry immigrated to the United States and settled in St. Louis, Missouri. He met Amanda Anna Saul at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair, and they married in St. Louis on 22 December 1904. They had five children.
John Henry lived to the age of 101, dying on 22 May 1972.
