Notes

  • The obituary gives age as 78. Existing records list birth as 2 February 1832, which would make him 71 at death in January 1904. The age of 78 in the obituary may be an error, or the birth year of 1832 may need revisiting. A birth year of ~1826 would match age 78 at death in January 1904.
  • "Came in wagons to Missouri when very young about sixty years ago" places the migration around 1844, consistent with the existing biography's estimate of 1843 to 1844 from Hawkins County, Tennessee.
  • The obituary says he owned about 400 acres at death, indicating significant land accumulation.
  • "Five grown children" is a concrete family size previously not recorded in W_Kenneth_Jones.
  • The obituary confirms his wife (Marinda_Wrightsman_Jones) was still living at the time of his death.
  • The "Salem church" and "Salem neighborhood" in eastern Jackson County align with burial at Salem Cemetery.
