Biography

Jonathan R. Jones, known as "John," was born 31 January 1867 in Jackson County, Missouri, to W_Kenneth_Jones and Marinda_Wrightsman_Jones. He married Harriet Samples Jones (1869-1920) and they had at least two children: Lena Jones Dixon (1890-1979) and Ralph Jones (1895-1964). A newspaper account described him as "a farmer and lifelong resident of Jackson County." He died 2 December 1945 in Atherton, Jackson County, and is buried at Salem Cemetery.

Note: His wife Harriet Samples may have been related to Maude_Samples_Jones, who married his brother William_Arthur_Jones. If so, two Jones brothers married two Samples sisters.
