Family Context
Noah Caswell Holt was born in 1869 in Indiana, making him a contemporary of his brother (or half-brother) John William "Will" Holt (~1865-1938). Both were sons of Julia Ann Miller and were raised by her husband Eliphaz Holt in Richland Township, Cowley County, Kansas.
Noah is Gale Fulghum's maternal grandfather. When Gale and Bob were placed with "Grandfather Holt" and "Grandma Holt" on the farm near Wilmot (1926-1928), they were placed with Noah's brother John William and his wife Clara, not with Noah himself. Noah died on September 22, 1935, the same year the Fulghum family was living at 1222 N. Liberty, Independence, MO.
Noah's wife Dora L. Copeland was from Jefferson County, Tennessee, connecting the Holt line to East Tennessee through marriage (Eliphaz Holt was also born in Hawkins County, Tennessee).
Relationship to John William Holt
WikiTree shows both Noah and John William as children of Julia Ann Miller and (step)father Eliphaz Holt. John William is listed as Julia's son from a prior relationship. Noah's exact parentage (biological father Eliphaz or a prior husband of Julia's) needs clarification. Both are listed under the Holt surname.
