Biography
Minerva Gibson was born in Tennessee, likely while her family was still in Simpson County, Kentucky before their migration to Missouri. She married George Albert Vaughan on 21 January 1836 in Jackson County, Missouri, and together they had at least ten children, including Joseph Gibson Vaughan (b. 1839). Her father Silas Gibson and her siblings are documented in Simpson County, Kentucky census records from 1820 to 1830, and in Jackson County, Missouri from 1840 onward. She died in Jackson County in 1880, the same year she appeared in the census.
