Biography
Charles Jackson Samples was born 10 July 1828 in Greene County, Missouri to Charles Lewis Samples and Anna "Ann" Young Samples. He married four times over the course of his life; one of his wives was Mary Laura Taylor (b. 1838; d. 1866), with whom he had daughter Maude_Samples_Jones, born in Indiana in 1866. Mary Laura died the same year Maude was born. Charles eventually relocated to Colorado and died 11 September 1906 in Rocky Ford, Colorado.
