Biography
Jonathan Jones was born around 1805 in Tennessee, most likely in or near Hawkins County, where he and his wife Anna Beets raised their family. In the spring of 1843, Jonathan moved his family first to St. Charles County, Missouri, where they remained one year, then on to Jackson County around 1844, part of the broader Tennessee to Missouri migration wave of that period. Their son W_Kenneth_Jones was born in Tennessee in 1832 and would have made the journey as a young boy. Jonathan died 14 October 1865 in Jackson County, Missouri. His parentage has not yet been established from primary sources.
