Around 1843 to 1844, Jonathan migrated with his family to Jackson County, Missouri, part of the broader Tennessee to Missouri migration wave of that period. Their son W_Kenneth_Jones was born in Tennessee in 1832 and would have made the journey as a young boy. Jonathan died 14 October 1865 in Jackson County, Missouri.
