Biography
Jacob Brazelton was born 23 May 1770 in Guilford County, North Carolina, the son of William Brazelton and Sarah Shepherd, a Quaker family that had migrated from Fairfax County, Virginia to North Carolina. He married Rachel Gambel Armstrong on 2 February 1795 in Jefferson County, Tennessee. The couple's daughter Prudence Brazelton (b. 1794) married Robert H. Scott (b. 1790), and their daughter Nancy Jane Scott married Jacob Tipton Copeland.
